I finally got to see the X-Files Movie: I want to Believe in cinemas and (inside) I'm still squeeing.
I had heard a lot of bad stuff about the film, how people didn't like it etc but I went anyway, I have waited six years after all so why not? And I don't understand what's wrong with it?
Yes, it doesn't follow directly on from the series.
No, there's not a lot of answers given from the mythology.
But yes it's a great film and a great story as a stand alone piece of work. There was mention of Samantha and of William and of other things that you had to see the series to understand but it was just tid-bits.
I thought Billy Connolly was fantastic - I wasn't too sure about it in the trailers but he really went away from the usual comedy roles and you could believe him in the role he was playing.
When Scully first came on screen I actually got shivers, which was weird but never mind. I liked how she was still a doctor and pursuing her own cause.
Mulder - even with a beard he's damn sexy!! His comedy was always on time and subtly funny (a few laughs went round the rest of the audience too) and he can still spin a good yarn about a conspiracy.
Even Skinner was in the movie!! I almost jumped in my seat when I saw him and fangirly tapped my mum and whispered "It's Skinner!!" - yes I'm that bad! but it was nice he was there.
Best moments for me:
-Pencils on the roof of Mulder's office (continued from the S5 ep that Stephen King wrote)
-The picture of George W. Bush and having the theme music play (very funny)
-Scully and Mulder in bed ............yes you read that right!
-Scully and Mulder kissing .............again you read that right.
-Mulder's tickly beard
-And hearing the theme music after so many years, that just made me want to clap!
All in all, I say see the movie, screw the critics and bask in the amazingness that is this saga and is this on-screen duo. You won't be disappointed.
And so I'll finish with a couple of funny vids of the two:

Also, if people do go see the film, wait till the end of the credits for a little bit extra - you won't be disappointed!
