If the dragon dies/disappears when the creator/sponsor of the Dragonballs dies, why is it still called the "Eternal Dragon"?

hmm I'm pretty sure it's because that is the human name for the dragon and the legend. Piccolo/Kami actually didn't KNOW at first that they would disappear o_O I think.
