[The screen begins feeding video, a happy little face the subject.]

"Brii! Togebrii!"

[Whoever this is, they seem quite pleased with the Pokegear. And then the video flips off. After a few moments, it's broadcasting again, same Pokemon, same happy squeals. And then off. And then on ( Read more... )

You started with a Togepi?

Indeed I did. And he seems quite happy with this.

[He glances at the Pokemon who is busy playing with one of his fingers.]

Are all Pokemon like this? I've seen a few others, but I've never gotten the chance to see them really interact with anyone.

It's really only the babies who are.

So when he evolves, he may grow out of it?

[That sounds both like a relief and a little disappointing. But he won't dwell on it much.]

[SOUL IS STUNNED. HOW THE HELL IS THAT SO CUTE. He has never seen such a cute Pokemon, and ---
AND ---
He almost wants one now, because of it.]

Careful about the, uh. The weather, dude.
It's kind of unpredictable.

[He sees you Soul, and is waving his cute stubby arms in your direction.]

Thank you, I will. Though it looks alright now.

[He glances up at the sky a moment, before back down at his 'gear]

Though I suppose that's kind of the unpredictability aspect, isn't it?

[oh man, that is just too cute. But if garners a little wave from the Kadabra behind him!
Soul just. Offers a teeny wave to the Pokemon, as if to say "'Sup?" through hand gestures.]

Most definitely.
It gets pretty damn bad out here sometimes, and getting caught in the rain or snow sucks.

And my Meister's going to be walking in it. Tch.

[Togepi is so pleased with his new friends. Because that's what you two are now. His friends.

His owner, meanwhile, again looks up at the sky, now with a face of uncertainty.]

Hm. I'll just have to be quick about this then.

[He then glances back down at the video.]

I don't think we've met yet.

[Holy crap that penguin parrot thing is freaking adorable and Lars kind of wants one. And then he remembers what happened the last time he tried to interact with a parrot and drops the idea.]

Hey, good luck with your trip! I'm heading to the same place; I'm about halfway there I think.

...Just stay the hell away from those ledges.

[Though his face is already bruised from a mishap with a tree branch a few days back, he looks like he has a new lump or two on his head. He holds up his free hand in emphasis; it's swollen and a pair of fingers are bent at odd angles.]

Trust me on this.

[He cringes slightly at the sight and nods.]

Thank you for the wishes, and for the warning. If you don't mind my asking, how exactly did you get that from a ledge?

It had some kind of weird force field around it. It was fine going down, but I tried to go back up after I realized I'd dropped one of those ball things at the top and I got shoved off. I kept trying to climb, but the harder I tried the harder it threw me back.

Yes, that's correct Rei. And thank you.

[At the mention of Violet, he opens his map and glances it over before folding it up and putting it back in his pocket.]

That's quite a bit farther than you were last time we spoke. You all made it there okay, right?

[By "you all" he is of course referring to her Pokemon as well. Their well-being is just as important!]

[He thinks on her first statement a moment, deciding to answer the second meanwhile.]

I'm glad to hear that.

As for a name, you're free to call me whatever is most comfortable for you.

[ The video starts with a Meowth mostly filling the screen, mewling in what can be assumed to be the cat equivalent of motherly cooing at the Togepi. Napoleon allows this for a minute before he rolls his eyes and pulls her back to his own shoulder. ]

I just got into Cherrygrove and it was a little bit over three days, between wild pokémon and trudging through the snow.

[But Togepi was so pleased with the Meowth, mister Napoleon! Though he now seems pretty content with someone else to meet too.]

Glad to have it confirmed. Thank you.

...and how often did you run into wild Pokemon, by chance?

[It's always good to plan ahead, and knowing exactly how often he will need..."defending" would be a good thing to plan for.]

[ But Napoleon needs to talk to Ulysses, little Togepi! Nevermind that Joséphine is still making fussy little noises at the other pokémon, but he's ignoring it. ]

Fairly frequently, though hopefully there's a couple of repel canisters in your bag you can use if you need to scare them off for a bit.

[video] I forgot about Ulysses, and now I'm kind of sad! papergrave January 20 2011, 22:50:13 UTC
[That's okay, he guesses. He is much to busy replying to Joséphine now anyway.]

Ah, so that is what those are used for. I was wondering about that. Thank you again. Do you happen to also know what these spray bottles are for?

[To make sure everything was understood, he held up a Potion for the man to see.]
