hey i'm pretty impressed with myself !

not only was my french, after years without any real practice, good enough to take a survey for an intercultural study about sexual behaviors and attitudes, it was good enough to write a coherent critique of their heterocentric definition of sexual intercourse!

and the translation? I get the penis and vagina and penetration part, so I get the gyst of it... but yeah. I like the "l'homosexualite est deviante." I mean, I don't like it, but at least they're admitting their beliefs.

all of that above is what i left in their "comments about this study" box.

the part in quotations is directly from their study. they define genital rapport (i don't know how to translate that, it sort of works in english as well) as "an act of vaginal penetration (insertion of the man's penis into the woman's vagina)".

the rest is my response: "i've personally had 'acts of vaginal penetration' without a penis, as have many others. your limited definition reinforces the belief that heterosexuality is normal and homosexuality is deviant. and it makes it difficult for me to respond to these questions, as a woman who has sexual relationships with both sexes."
