Actually it first showed up on the tubes about a week ago. And yeah wooooooo my old hometown. They're still fighting a court battle over the stickers they made kids sign in their science books saying they understood that Evolution was just a theory and they should look into Intelligent Design.

hmm. i didn't really consider that they might have done it in the vein of "well that's what THEY did to dubya"...but do you really think people are so culturally dense that they don't recognize the hundreds of years of racist associations?

i thought about that dubya thing too, but yeah- i wonder how conscious the designers are (or were) of the association.

EDIT: I think it's plausible that whoever designed the shirts knew, but recognized that they had an out and could claim ignorance of the racist undertones, and proceeded along.
