Ah, Christmas

Dec 21, 2007 13:11

The time of the year when I say, "Hello, internets, feel free to take me off your friendslists and there will be no drama; in fact, we will NEVER SPEAK OF THIS AGAIN."

The offer stands.

I'd also like for the people who added me randomly years ago to take me off their lists, but it seems like that would be a Christmas miracle at this point.

holidays: xmas 2007

I think if you're determined, you can read the FAQs on banning users from your journal. Doing that takes you off their lists.

FWIW I still love you.

That's...kinda creepy, Seth. I don't feel we ever really got to know each other.

Yikes. I meant that in the more generic positive-vibe way, not in the roses and googly-eyes way.

FWIW on this end, I still have faith that one day we'll actually be real friends, if the kind that only occasionally have time for each other, and you're welcome to come to my Rocky Horror & Pie party at the end of the month.

Hee.

I'm not worried about the Circle people, but I think there are definitely a couple online friendships I've made in the past couple years that never deepened and I know how you can look at someone's journal, be interested in them and their life, but not necessarily interested in reading random bits of their life. It's just not organic enough for some people, and if it doesn't work, I want them to feel comfortable enough to say, "Okay, even if I'm the non-confrontational type, or because I feel like it would come off dramatically to take this person off, I can just remove this person right now and everything will be cool and I don't have to DEAL with it? Yay."

Or whatever other people think.

I know what you're saying, I just couldn't resist the opportunity to tease you about it.

I actually haven't made ANY online friends lately that qualify in that category (though I have in the past), which is why I don't feel the need to post this in my journal. I've been antisocial anyway!

Oh, no one else ever picks up on it, and I don't think anyone's ever taken me up on it.

Ah well.

Randomly, what are you doing tonight?

Kidlet's home tonight because the GIrl Scout thing was rained out, otherwise I would. Meaning, otherwise I would've gone to bed at a decent hour last night instead of waiting for her to come home from a late-night poker game (the ex-bf's, not hers) and finally conking out with the light on and hoping he reminded her to put on her jammies (no such luck). And then I'd be awake enough to do anything. But I'm not.

So we're going to watch the end of The Fifth Element, work on her book report, and go to bed earrrrrly.

A couple people mentioned interest in going to the Philadelphia Zoo, though; we should set that up for early November.

Aw well, sorry about the GS thing.

The Zoo sounds good, I've got a membership, whoot! I can even get two guests in. But the first week of Nov. I will be in Richmond with uh... a meetup from another message board. I SWEAR I HAVE IRL FRIENDS, it just worked out this way.

There's one user who works at Six Flags, so s/he's tied up for a bit too. I've just got my sister coming next weekend, then after that I think I'm free. No clue about Smu; she works retail hours (bleh). But I think if we gave everyone enough time to get things straightened out...it's just really a matter of having a forum on which we can figure out these things. The OTT or CAPSLOCK posts aren't getting it done because they get buried.
