this entry could have been written by me, it echoes so much of what i'm feeling, burnt by naive trust, feeling a bit world-weary and sad about the loss of my innocence, seeing how many illusions i held about myself and also eager to cultivate more confidence and trust in myself.
you're right, it's always going to be a struggle, but i feel grateful to be walking this path with you and witnessing each others journey.

i hope your monkhood will set you on that course you've been thinking about for the past few years. i can't believe you are leaving so soon! i worry about you getting too thin, can i send things to your monastery for you, like trail mix and protein bars?
