To play the devil's advocate here, I disagree. It's not a holiday always perpetuated by women and the fact that someone has to put work into it to make the holiday happen doesn't mean that there's no fun in it.
Specifically, I'm thinking of the Christmases I spend with my dad. He puts a LOT of work into cards, gifts, the tree, parties, etc. However, he enjoys what he does because it makes the holiday great for everyone. There's a certain amount of joy and fun that can go into picking out gifts for friends and family, then wrapping them. Decorating the tree is always fun too.
Anyway, the point is that the holidays can be great fun, despite the work you have to put into it. Merry Christmas, by the by.
