You

This isn't really a fic so much as it is something to write so I don't go crazy.

“You’re going to die and there is nothing I can do about it.” He said it ten times a day to get used to the phrase on his tongue.

He pictured him with oxygen tubes to his face and shaky hands to make it easier when the time really did come.

All it served to do was make his lip tremble and his mind race.

"You're going to fade and leave me here and there is nothing I can do to change it." He said it once a month to himself in the mirror.

His body grew weaker and stopped breathing on it's own. His hands lay flat and unmoving for days at a time.

"You're going to go and I will never recover." He said this one least because it didn't help.

His smile faded and nothing he said or did made it any better.

"You." It was always on his mind. On his lips. Burned into his heart until he burned it to the ground. Every little thing that reminded him of the past and moments with a man too frail to open his eyes.

Kneeling on the ground was not thereputic. It was madness and he touched the stone with rough fingers.

"You're my light and now that it's been extinguished, I don't know what to do. "
