I know what you mean. If I could, I'd delve into intensive vocabulary studies and focus on ancient cultures for months at a time. Like, Greece. That fucking fascinated me when we did it. I have this Greek mythology guide in my bookshelf, and I'm constantly picking it up.
I'm... sort of the same way. If I really want to do something, I can pick it up, just by focusing a little bit. I'm quick that way. It's- I dunno. I know I'm smart, but that doesn't mean that I make smart decisions in how I handle my personal life (I'm self-serving and apathetic), or how I act in school (I think most people think I'm a ditz and an idiot, which bugs the hell out of me, especially when Sonia gets all condescending).
I hate my habit of romanticizing things of the past, even though I know that when they were happening, I hated them, and couldn't wait to get away. I have a selective memory, only remembering the highlights of otherwise hellish existences. Exactly. I'm completely the same way.
