Wow, Katara is really forgiving, she must really really care about Aang. Following his admission that he had cheated on her with an offer of marriage is just...probably not the best idea, although you've made clear her reasoning to me. Poor Katara, she just wants to be with the one she loves, to the point of slight delusion :(

I think so many people end up that way; settling for a relationship or marriage that isn't necessarily good for them. So many times, even though someone seems perfect for you, the situation isn't ideal, and if you don't believe you can do better, then you just fool yourself into accepting a subpar relationship.
