Haha, I guess he was pointing to that tiny sliver of sun that was just about to set? It's the only thing I can think of, since obviously people wouldn't let heir kids play with strangers at night. o_O So it might have started setting after they went to their "campsite"

I mean I started reading this fic today and finished all 19 chapters in like 4 hours XD ... $
