Chips of Sweet Fiber

I modified this recipe after I saw Joy's recipe for whole wheat chocolate chip cookies but wanted something with oats in it. I ran out of chocolate chips, so I grabbed the bar of heath toffee chips and dumped all of those in :D Note to self: try this some time.

Here's what ended up in the cookies:

1 cup butter, room temp
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp milk
2 tsp vanilla extra
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup white whole wheat flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
2 cup quick oats
1/2 cups raw oat germ
~1 cup chocolate chip
4/3 cups toffee bits (8oz bag of Heath bits)

I somehow ended up with much much more than 4 dozen after I made .6 oz dough balls (I really need a scoop...) I baked up 2 dozen and froze the rest for fresh baked cookies any time :) I guess this is my new pet project now that I noticed milk-based ice creams don't freeze well in my ice cream maker, and that my freezer's running out of room for those failed attempts :(

Someone remind me to pick up some cream, I realized I need it for the frosting of the tiramisu cupcake :O I guess that and the next batch of cinnamon rolls will have to wait until next week. Tomorrow I tackle strawberry-lemon marshmallows... maybe...
