UC Santa Cruz rejected me. Eveything seemed pretty hopeless for about 24 hours but I am better now. Looking into "Gap Years" in Spain, France, and Chile because I do not want to go to San Francisco State. Fuck you Santa Cruz--arrgghhhhhhhh. At least Serge got in though!!

I am applying for an appeal, but if that doesn't work out I am strongly considering going to Spain for a year with a Gap Year program. However cheesy it sounds, I kind of wanted the whole freshman college experience (living in the dorms and whatnot). So even though community college is an inexpensive option, I want to go to a university. Who knows, though. I bet when I come back my goals will be COMPLETELY different.

dude that sucks. ucsc is an asshole. i got in but i´m pretty sure i´m gonna be fucked financially and am kind of thinking of just moving up to the bay area, or maybe seattle, and working.

we should totally talk sometime about the whole you taking time off and traveling thing though because i spent most of the past year researching that shit. i would reccommend not going with a program, though. like i came to guatemala pretty independently and i still feel like i over-planned things. definitely here, and i think in most places, it´s really easy (and probably better) to figure stuff out once you get there. and a lot of programs have these totally unnecessary administrative type fees up the ass. but, i don´t know. i want to call you sometime, let me know when´s a good time.

Yes I'd like to hear what you know about travelling and whatnot. I might end up going to Evergreen, though. Send me an e-mail sometime emilydrummer@mac.com.
