I've always thought that the New England accent made people sound stupid an uneducated.
This is a perfect example of how their accent gets in the way of their spelling:

Oh man!
I've witnessed a few examples of people spelling words the way they say them instead of the way they are actually spelled. I can't remember the guy that done this, but he wrote "ort to" instead of "ought to."
