k, um, i have a really big problem with preachers and churches like this.

i cant help but remind myself that these are the people that talk about wiccans and native americans like they are serial killers because of their earth magic practices.

at the moment there is nothing worse to me than a hypocritical religious zealot.

OH it's that Benny Hinn....or however his name is spelled!

I used to wonder why people like that...really any nutty church would be on TV and why would people watch? I can't stand to watch crap like that. It sickens me. I guess because I am a Christian and I hate to see people abusing something that should be precious. But, I guess if you it was just a normal church service with no one screaming, fainting, no people getting knocked around and no one getting stepped on it would be boring.

The first 15 seconds of that video is pure genius.

If I didn't have any scruples at all, I would be a shyster preacher and do crazy things and make millions. Only because I think I'd look good in a white suit and a bad hair do. ;)

Sorry for the poorly written comment above. I just wanted to clarify. When I said "I hate to see people abusing something that should be precious."

I didn't just mean Christianity, but any faith. It really annoys me to see people hurt other people by taking advantage of something they hold dear. I've been in bad, bad churches and it nearly warped me in ways I can't even explain.

thanks wuben. i agree. so many people get steered down some crazy path and dont even see it. if these people saw the tapes i feel that many would realize how retarded their behavior was.

i really wish i could understand how people go to the extreme edges of religion.

my father and his wife are friends with a couple where the wife has issues. she is deeply religious and uses religion to cover for her in arguments. she is hateful, spiteful, twists things around to benefit her, and is always on the lookout to start something. fortunately her husband agrees with me when i am forced to point out how unchristian her behavior is, but that usually doesn't sink in with her.

I think some people follow the crowd, herd mentality, others though, the most dangerous and fanatical are warped in some way. Maybe abuse, person issues or something. Like the lady you mentioned that is a friend of your father's and his wife. They can use religion to justify their anger, hatefulness and pettiness. The same thing they condemn others with. I"m so glad you mention that she is being unchristian. I've had to do that IN church to people. People need to be called on crap like that.
