Giving your time and talent to such a worthy cause is indeed, in my book anyway, a noble, worthy work. And you are right, giving time is way more important than money. There have to be doers and seeing really is believing. If you can make people see those that suffer as humans instead of faceless victims, I do think people would be more compassionate and helpful.

I'm very proud of you!

I am glad you had good people to work with and there were no major problems.

I did two sets of Christmas cards for a charity last year. They were added to care baskets of people in hospices and nursing homes. I felt like maybe something I did helped, but actually giving them out would have been more rewarding.

And though I know this is a totally selfish thing, I'd like to be able to see the people that buy my books and art, etc. Actually see them and see their reaction. To me it would be more satisfying to sell 10 books and see people really enjoy getting them, than to sell a million and never get any contact with the buyers.

i know how you feel.

many people live vicariously through others. so when you bring joy to someones life you get the reward of seeing their happiness. you also get to know that you matter and something you did mattered so much that it moved another. its bring fulfillment and meaning to your life.

no matter what it means, its always great to see someone happy, experiencing true joy.
