-1- Battle of the Furniture
[There’s a cracking sound followed by a thud as the journal tumbles off the end table and onto the floor, lying (so very conveniently) open. The recorded voice is softly accented English that may sound familiar to some, but mostly irritated.]
Unbelievable. I’ve defeated legendary creatures and battled gods and piece of furniture gets the best of me. All the gifts of the gods and no one ever thought to add echolocation to the list. [Her voice is low pitched as she rights the table, mostly talking to herself, partly hoping that there was no one else in the hall to witness her less than graceful moment.]
Somehow being blind was easier the first time around… Mmm? A book?
[Her hand brushes against the open journal. She picks it up and the sound of a hand being smoothed over the pages is recorded.]
How odd… The pages don’t feel that old… [The recording is cut off as she partially closes the book to run her hand down the spine. ] I wonder what it says.
