((backdated to the morning after this))

[it's mid-morning. Rory is sitting at the table on the far side of Amy's room from the bed where she's still lying, asleep. He's wearing a pair of shorts and a t-shirt that he was only half-surprised to find in her closet (they fit him perfectly), and his hair is mussed and sticking up every which way like he'd stuck a fork in an electrical outlet. Currently he has his journal open in front of him, looking like he wants to speak into it, but hasn't quite gotten up the nerve. He wouldn't be thinking about talking about this at all, except his curiosity has gotten the better of him, and he doesn't know who to go to.

After a few moments of fidgeting and chewing nervously on raspberry-lemon biscuits from the tin that's sitting open next to his journal, he opens his mouth and starts to speak, hesitantly at first]

Um--anyone out there? Maybe? Okay ...

[he still feels ridiculous, talking to an open book like it's a party line phone]

Right. So. Apparently this castle can make people have ... funny turns. Like where their brain goes home and--lives out some of their life, I don't know, and then they come back here with new memories. Or something.

Anyway ... I'm just curious. Has anyone here ever done that and found out that--back home, they're ... dead?
