- seventh year waiting -
[it's a normal night at Paradisa for Rory. Or what passes as normal for him, now. He's deep asleep in the bed that he shares with Amy, on his back with one hand resting on his stomach above the sheets and the other flung vaguely in Amy's direction. The only sound in the room is Amy's steady breathing mixed with his light snores; both of them are completely unaware of the world change currently happening around them.
Like it still does sometimes, the new-old nightmare resurfaces in his mind. The details may vary from dream to dream, but the core components always remain the same: Amy's left him for the Doctor and made a mockery of him, and he's left alone and brokenhearted. This time he's having to come up with a believable excuse for why his wife-to-be left him jilted at the altar, some excuse that doesn't get him investigated for murder but always leaves him humiliated because he can hear the whispers: "She wanted out so much that she'd rather run away than get married to him." And in the background, always within his sight, are the Doctor and Amy. Pointing at him and laughing as they run away hand-in-hand back to that infernal blue box of his.
Rory may be more secure with his lot in life during the waking hours, but his subconscious still has a lot to work through, apparently.
The dream continues on as it does, and he's oblivious to the fact that, elsewhere in the castle, someone has picked up on the emotional signals his dreams are sending ...]
