it resulted in one blackout

[The day before had been Saturday, and the end of the world had happened right before dinner. At least, it was supposed to have happened, if not for the help of one Newton Pulsifer, who is currently wandering outside the castle as if he's lost.]

[Which he technically is. He woke up in a room he didn't recognize, then went down to the ground floor in a rather deep daze. Everything around him seemed so dreamlike, that he was absolutely convinced that this was a dream and he only needed to wake up to make everything disappear.]

[But it's strange, since he usually dreamed about being James Bond, or winning the Nobel Peace Prize for some electronic gadget he had invented. He had never dreamed about a castle before.]

Hmm.

[There's a duck pond in front of him, and he stops near the edge, doubt starting to creep into his mind. This was too good to be true, right? But he could feel things and think and, no matter what he thought of, he couldn't make himself fly or do anything that would have been impossible in real life.]

[Maybe this was real life?]

No. It can't. This is all just a bloody dream and I'm going to wake up any second now. Any second...

[And then his foot slips on the wet grass, and he topples towards the duck pond with a shout. There's a loud splash. The ducks in the pond paddle away with agitated quacks, and Newt comes up for air, sputtering as he realizes how cold and wet he is now. This was all real. This was all undeniably real.]

...Oh, bugger!

[Care to help him out of the pond, fellow Paradisians?]
