[At the gate, the young man pulls the rope that rises into the treetops, and somewhere far above, a bell rings. He doesn't bother waiting for the messenger; he just opens the gate and strolls in. It's early enough in the morning that he knows Flora and Goldfleck will likely still be sleeping, so he imagines he has the place to himself for at least a few hours.
With a touch of difficulty he manages to get the pulley-elevator going, and then he's ascending up and up until he's coming through the lower branches. There's another platform just past the leaves, one that leads into the rest of the treehouse, and with a wary look down he steps over to it, using the railing as a support.
He heads up the stairs into the treehouse's higher balconies, completely silent, until he realizes, virtue of rooms that would otherwise be empty, that there are other people here.
He sighs, and heads to the dining hall to get some breakfast.]
