What a magical place I have arrived in, and at such an unusual time too. I must say, I was quite alarmed at first, awakening in an unknown location and with all this commotion no less-- but after spending a few days here, I see that getting settled will not be as daunting as I had imagined.
[not that he's happy about this, of course, and part of

Pokèmon are creatures indigenous to my world. I have been told they are the equivalent of "animals"? Their most noteworthy use is in battles, where trainers catch and raise them to compete with each other.
[since this person doesn't seem to be familiar with them, he sees little point in educating him on the benefits of pokèmon liberation among other things, instead keeping the explanation simple. as much as it saddens him to admit it, there's little point in partaking knowledge that won't be of any use to anyone, much less himself.]

These battles are not for the sake of harming each other. They are usually friendly in competition, and the purpose is to help trainers and Pokèmon alike understand each other better.

[he's not aware of the fact he sounds like a fucking alien or something, but it's all true. N isn't exactly willing to partake his life story onto this guy, but he figures that much is safe with him.]

My friends aren't here either.
[ well that's a bit cruel to say, since he's been friendly with some people...but no one can ever replace maya, jun, lisa, and eikichi. ]
What do you want to know?

That's unfortunate, but perhaps it is for the best.
[it would be kind of shitty to wish one's friends away from the safety of their home and into a strange new place after all.
he makes a contemplative noise. he has many questions.]
These friendships you have... have they enriched your life as I assumed they would?

I suppose, if you must. I have an Ekans.

Ekans, you say? A fine Pokèmon indeed. Are you this Ekans' trainer?

Well, I'd hardly call myself her trainer, snakes tend not to be owned by anyone. She just...lives in my room.

I see. Still, you two must be quite close if you're able to distinguish her gender. Is there somewhere I can meet the two of you? Wherever she is most comfortable would be for the best.

Hey, welcome to the castle. I don't have any Pokemon myself, but there's always a couple up for adoption at the Daycare in town!

[he's a little disappointed to hear that pokèmon are abandoned even in strange, otherwordly nexuses but he supposes it's a fact of life. it's a good thing he's here to adopt the shit out of the ones in the daycare now!!!!!]

A week later, it turned back to this place and about half the Pokemon turned into little plushies and the other half stayed, only without their weird powers. That Christmas, a couple of them got their powers back.
--Oh yeah, and I guess if you leave a male and a female at the Daycare, sometimes they'll find an egg.

[he supposes that such a thing shouldn't come as a surprise to him. this place is supposedly a nexus, right? he can't say he's too hopeful about the prospect of this place returning his pokèmon to him since it seems that they only arrive under certain conditions-- conditions which the whims of the castle controlled.]
Some of this is quite interesting. For example, leaving a male and female Pokèmon of the same breeding group in certain conditions will also yield an egg. I wonder if there is a reason for the castle allowing Pokèmon to propagate their species here, yet rob them of their battling abilities...
[well, he doubts this guy knows or cares all that much. he's mostly talking to himself.]
Where are my manners-- thank you for this information. Prior to arriving here, I had my own Pokèmon with me. They seem to be amiss however, and I am quite worried for their safety. If Pokèmon are acquired through other means here, however, I cannot help but wonder if mine were truly confiscated or if taking them is my "loss".
