[Anyone who is out on the castle grounds near the edges of the forest may notice something slightly peculiar going on. Galadriel is setting up a small re-creation of her Mirror.

She's been working on getting this together basically since the moment she arrived, but it's taken sometime to arrange for a suitable silver basin and pedestal to be made, especially since she was somewhat vague about her purposes when dealing with the townspeople. And she certainly wasn't going to trust the castle with this.

It isn't as beautiful as her mirror in Lórien, but really, that was the least of her worries. Between the rather odd lack of stream water (using stagnent water for these purposes seems rather inauspicious), the force exerted by the castle, and, perhaps most significantly, the loss of Nenya, she even has doubts as to the efficacy of this attempt.

Nevertheless, it was an attempt worth making. She fills the silver basin to its brim and breathes on it. For a moment nothing happens and the water is still, but then the reflection of the stars goes out and she begins to see.

And whatever she is seeing does not please her. Her brow furrows in concentration and she leans forward slightly, peering into the water further. She struggles with something for a long while, the mental exertion evident on her face. But eventually something shifts and decidedly not in her favor. She steps back from the Mirror suddenly, her expression pained and shaken and her face a bit paler than usual.

It seems that the Mirror works well enough to allow the castle to give a rather nasty response to her prying, at least. She'll just sit against this nearby tree for a while, gathering her thoughts and pulling herself together.]
