Comfort

I have realized that even though this world is not fond of constants, there are some things it cannot keep from us. Life itself is a cycle, is it not? And though we may lose such things as memories, strengths and even items of great value, our existence is always assured. Through that, we are promised great joy and sorrow in equal amounts, but ( Read more... )

[Much like his mate, Krasus is drawn to the serenity Liadrin weaves for herself. It is comforting to a creature of life and magic, a small reminder of the power the younger races wield if only given the opportunity. They can wreak such destruction in the same breath, yet seeing the blood knight matron gives him some hope. Beneath that is her ever-present fel taint and it does unnerve him somewhat, but he is able to brush that aside, knowing of many fel-tainted yet honorable and brave people. The image of a certain orc comes to mind.

The elder spellcaster lingers at the edge of Liadrin's awareness for a moment. A violet cloak does little to hide the telltale pointed ears beneath. At last he approaches, bearing no ill will, only curiosity.]

How kind of you to share your boon among the rest.

[Guess who would organize a raid against Deathwing, too? He called the one on Malygos, anyway. And Halion. And-- well, you get the idea. Liadrin is bold, perhaps not as obvious about it as a Windrunner but still worth his time (and a small bit of admiration).

Somehow he gets the feeling that he's being tested here.]

In most cases, I would readily offer my forgiveness... provided it was mine to give.

[Those felfire eyes narrow slightly. The courage to strike out is a trait she can admire from so many hours spent training knights within Silvermoon's halls, but it is not one she feels is needed as much in this world, when so much is already stacked against them.]

In most cases, you say.

One might boast one thing or another, but until he is truly put on trial, his words are only air. Nothing more.

[He could be speaking of himself. He could also be speaking of Deathwing. Or maybe it's neither! There's always more with Krasus.

Now he seems to be eyeing her from beneath his cowl. His dark eyes are certainly not elven, and just a twinge unsettling.]

'He'?

[Her ears flick forward on full alert. Krasus you cryptic creature!]

You seem to be referring to someone specific, Lord Krasus.

Haha awesome. I'm tired again though fffff thelifemeddler May 14 2011, 05:24:11 UTC
I was speaking in general terms; anyone could claim one thing and do another, and I do not consider myself without flaw regarding my emotions, however my intentions may be.

[He twitches inwardly at the title.] Please, call me Krasus and only that. There is no need for other forms of address among equals.

I would hardly consider us equals, but if that is what you wish, I will oblige.

Of course such things are always a possibility, but this world does not offer us much in the way of security-- only the promise of chaos and a need to adapt. War in such an environment is a poor choice.

I have seen it play out with my own eyes, and despite all those who swore it was necessary, in the end I was right.

[Now he has an idea that Liadrin knows exactly what Krasus is thinking about.]

I will listen.

[He says it without any trace of pride, only barest concern and curiosity. His sources are not infinite. Krasus knows that Arthas is here somewhere, but very little as to what happened around him.]

Alleria was determined to eliminate Arthas as a threat. She felt allowing him to exist unopposed was an insult and a crime, and gathered allies to attack him. I advised against it.

I have no love of him, but I do know he keeps to himself and does not seek unnecessary conflict. To attack him would be provoking a monster, not to mention the lives it would put at risk.

I decided to go regardless to keep them safe, but it failed, and our allies suffered for it.

As nice as it would be to say an offensive stance is the best option, it is not. Forgiveness can mend, acceptance offers new perspective, and should they fail, only then should we rise to defend those in need.

[Krasus listens like he said he would. There's no trace of expression to be found on his lips, no weakness... He figured something like that would happen, which is why he isn't calling for all-out war. He'd just like the playing field to be more in the residents' favor.

Also Deathwing needs to stop stealing powers from children because really.]

Those are wise words and they are true to your heart. An endless cycle of bloodshed is not what I desire nor those I represent; I will do all I can to preserve the peace.
