Funny, though, that every time I reach for a pen to write in here, the pen seems to move - almost on its own. I do suppose that’s what dictation’s for. Still, it is awfully strange that any pen I reach for won't hold still

Yeah, the journal is the best source for everything annoying. Answers, chats, nothing in particular. Best to keep it on your person at all times. [ Piper gives a bit of a shrug. Not that she is bitter or anything. She just sort of misses her phone ... and hates carrying this thing around, just in case she may need it. Paranoia is not good for the soul, Piper. :| Then she wrinkles her nose: ] Your pens are running away from you? [ That's weirder than usual. ]

[She'll take a journal over a phone any day. Futuristic technology and Sarah are not exactly the best of friends.]

I take it fleeing pens are not that normal about here?

Not that I've come across. It could be one of the Castle's tricks, but then, they seem to effect everyone, not just one person.

[ Oh man, this is going to sound so stupid, but - ] Can you pick up a pencil?

I've tried that. And markers, even a wax crayon I found lying about.

All of them seem to flee.

That's rather weird. Maybe it's just something that happens today. We had Easter eggs pop up out of nowhere on Easter. Or the Castle feels we need to dictate a little more. [ It's a long shot, but it's the most comforting thing she can think of that might explain this away. ] Hopefully it'll be fine tomorrow.

Does the Castle enjoy taking the mickey out of us on a frequent basis?

[ Piper laughs ] You can say that that's one if it's more defining characteristics. Your pencil act isn't the worst, from what I hear.

And what is the worse that you've heard?

[moleculars]

You can lose all sense of control. You can get turned into a dog ... or even a mannequin [ she still doesn't quite understand that one ]. Just the idea of how unlimited the Castle's little tricks can go is the worst thing to come out of all of this. You think of something and there's a possibility that the Castle has or will do that to a person.

That's absolutely dreadful!

[She doesn't understand at all how this can possibly happen, but given the magically flying pens, Sarah's not going to question much.]
