[You'll find Marian in the stables today. Grooming slowly is calming and good when there's a lot to think about. Going for a ride will be refreshing. (Or, as TV trope says: all girls love ponies.)]
[ Piper grins at Marian's message. She has to give the woman points for being annoyingly (in a loving way) persistent to get her out more. ] Where are you?
No thank you. I wouldn't ask you to go through all the trouble. I don't think I'd be a great salesperson for candy. If I couldn't sell lemonade successfully at twelve, I don't think I have a bright future selling things, period.
I wouldn't be so quick to say that, but thank you. The inner twelve-year-old is delighted to have a loyal customer.
[ Piper thinks about it for a moment ] Mm, maybe something to do with business. I - back home, I owned and ran a club. I was thinking of maybe just picking that back up - if I could.
I'll have to check that place out when I have the chance.
I'm not quite sure. I'm not sure how long I'll be here and I don't want to invest myself in anything. [ Piper rakes her hand through her hair. She's just scared, plain and simple. Of being stuck here for an incredibly long time and the possibility of only being successful in a world where she can't share it with her sisters. How will she get any business off the ground without their support? ]
[She does, in more ways than one. She knows Piper is uncomfortable with Paradisa and she remembers that it took time with herself. Paradisa is overwhelming. But Marian is still determined to think well of the place - besides, what is there to go home for?
It's different for Piper, of course. So many she's missing. A home, a life.
Sadness comes over Marian. Trying to shake it off, she tries to sound cheerful.]
Well, I promise to be armed if we ever go to the city...
[She hopes Piper understands that Marian tries to understand her.]
I trust that you would be. [ she smiles ] I wouldn't enter that place without you armed with your gear. As we know, I'm a bit pathetic when it comes to fighting.

I'm in the Peace Patrol now. If there's any funny business going on, we'll know. I think... that a lot of things are being delt with, to be honest. There are many residents here with what they call 'super powers'. And... thankfully, there are many magical residents too. They do a lot of good.
Good. If they used their gifts for ev-bad things, then I think we'd have a problem. [ She's kind of relieved at that news. Doesn't seem as though she'll be spending her days fighting demons here. ] Are you sure you're going to be safe going up against these people with powers?
Sad to say, there are those who are intent on doing bad, just like back home. In their cases, it's not about losses, it's who they are. As long as the majority of us wants to do good, we will always persevere.

[She'll hear that Marian is a bit out of breath.]
It turned out to be quite a busy morning, but I'm back outside.
[Quite so, one despondent priest and one friend knocked out. But will Marian be deterred from that? Nooooo.]
...Listen, there's a candy store in the city that needs people.

Well, if you're interested, I can introduce you to someone who needs an extra hand.

There's the Caritas in town. But maybe you'd like to start your own business?

[ And she appreciates it, very, very much. ]

[Significant pause, the appreciation is mutual.]
