How melodramatic.

[ heh. ]

It may be- but it is the truth, is it not?

To say it apropos of nothing unless you know something is coming up? True, maybe, but dull.

True.

But- couldn't you also say something dull makes for something more amusing later? And vise-versa?

You could. You always could. It can be true or not, but you can say just about anything. At Paradisa, it's more likely true than not, but the people who don't know that already won't be helped by the announcement and to the people who do know, it's superfluous.

[ oh he likes you. ]

What an interesting perspective way of looking at things. Both are true- or both could be wrong. You are right though- about this place. Things seem to change easily- on a whim and suspicions are usually correct.

[You have chosen a very crabby girl to like, Wilhelm-!]

Frankly what's best here is to just be wary and have an eye out on things all the time. But the people who most need to do that probably won't listen to advice telling them to do it.

That seems to be the case in almost every world, doesn't it?

One of those ways in which Paradisa isn't so different at all.

And yet- people still react negatively to this place.

I don't think they really have perspective. To a lot of people this place seems to make them feel powerless. How much power does a normal person actually have over their life, though?

Oh, you'd be surprised how much power wills can hold when the user truly wants something. They can do anything they wish.

The possibility of achieving something is different from the possibility of controlling something.

Yes- but, is it really that different? Once they know of what they can achieve, they strive to control it. Some do, some don't, yes, but ultimately, they try for that opportunity to have something greater at their disposal.

Have you not tried of such a thing at least once in your lifetime?

Tried and failed, I should say. With the influence of other people who all have their own things going on, the world which just doesn't care about the plans we make, random chance... there are hundreds of variables that come to spoil what might be absolute control at first.

That is most certainly true.

But say, now, perhaps the world here is taking an interest, just- it doesn't agree with what's going on. So perhaps it's trying to show how it wants things changed.
