She can't see it, but on a ripped out piece of paper he tried to figure the cipher out. Eventually he finally gets it, and writes the following back:]

[riddles might not be his forte but a code? That's something a lot easier for him to work out]

well if you come up with any im sure ill enjoy solving them
i like this sort of stuff things with codes are easier than say riddles
i guess its because i was a detective back home so having a skill like this was really useful

and also still kind of a rookie haha
but actually the last case i was on was a double homicide

I worked on a lot of homicide cases back at home, too.
And this isn't really a secret anymore, since I've told the journals, but I was actually very personally involved in a homicide case!
