71 Swords in the Stone

[He's honestly pretty bored, and annoyed by therapy. He's removed himself to the bedroom he's claimed for the duration of this loss and closed the door. An issue has been bothering him for awhile, and while the castle is seemingly quiet it would be best to work it out now]

Castle safe zones might be improved if we installed some kind of exit feature. Teleport circles might work, since they're keyworded...

There's the downside that someone might be able to swarm us coming the other direction, but it would help to have fast means of transport out of the castle at several points.

That does not keep them safe, however. If the residents can get out, but have no where else to turn to...Or are surprised by what has gotten in, there will still be far more casualties than I think any of us would like.

Perhaps making the exit more secretive, such using a bookshelf that will swing out as a door, make it more difficult for the enemy to find, much less predict to swarm us there.

I agree. It's just a thought for how our current safe zones could be improved, too - we might want to keep them at least half secret, anyway. A concealed teleport circle or something like that might serve us well.

I do not know much about magic. I've no idea what sort of teleport circle you are speaking of, or how it might be useful. It is problematic in that they are areas thoroughly populated in 'safe' times as well. We don't wish to starve the populace because we have made the kitchen inaccessible.

It's useful because it's near instant transportation. There's one in the castle basement right now that goes out to the outpost. I think they can be rigged up with plain technology too.

Near? You said it required a word? What does one do if the word is discovered by someone that we would rather not have it?

Should the castle ever...Remove magic and powers, such as it does when it changes the world, we would benefit from having both. One can never be too careful.

I would say we should keep the passwords confidential, for use only in emergency, and see if they can't be changed after they were used. That would provide more security.

I agree.
