I don't know, I guess maybe because living happily ever after is unrealistic. I think that writer was going for some kind of religious moral though.

...I kinda personally liked how loyal to the prince she was, though. He missed out on something great there.

It was so sweet, wasn't it? The love they had for each other... that's why I like mine better, because they were able to be together.
