[it's been a long few weeks. so much turmoil and tension ... and he's well aware of the toll it must be taking on all involved, and even some who aren't. so, before he dives straight into the strategizing and the planning and such, he's going to allow himself one evening's respite to recharge before preparing for ... well

And Wild Bill's death and hand are rather unique aren't they? I haven't even heard of any other thing similar in any other sport myself, its fascinating no?

And yes, it is, quite fascinating indeed. They've named plenty of awards and venues and the like for famous athletes, and certain sports retire player numbers in honor of them, as well ... but I've never heard of anything else being named in that exact manner, for that exact reason. People really are peculiar, sometimes. [and he couldn't sound happier about it!]

And yes they have, awards, venues, once in a grand while you will even see an event named after someone, a famous person or a local hero or some such thing. But for that exact reasoning? No, not at all. But its also that same peculiarity that lends those in the scientific community to name things after themselves as well, but that is an entirely different thing. [And someone who will chat about peculiar social behavior? He's sounding very happy right now.]

Yes, well, if we don't name things after ourselves, we just figure the others will go ahead and take all the good things for themselves once we're gone, I suppose. [this is the happiest-sounding conversation in the castle right now, then, apparently. he doesn't know who you are, stranger, but he likes you already.]

I suppose yes, or you just have an ego that could very well take over the world I suppose. Or have a large enough one to want to take it over. But who cares who has the credit when the discovery benefits everyone? [It must be. He doesn't know who you are either, but anyone who can keep up with his thoughts is someone he likes instantly, and someone who agrees with him? You sir are very high on his list of people he must know now.]

Oh, one can have an ego of comparable size without the inclination towards planetary domination, I should think. [or, ahem, know from close personal experience...] It's a bit more rare, that's all.
[once Watson finds his way there, the Doctor will be sitting at his table, chair leaned back, journal open, idly shuffling a deck of cards to break it in]

I suppose yes, one could, after a while yes. [Yes well he can't talk either...] Rare indeed yes, too rare on occasion it seems like.
[And he'll wander on down, dressed in an older sense of fashion, waist coat, cravat, in a rather drab palette of brown and blue, and notice the Doctor over at the table, and after a brief pause at another empty table to gain his barrings and fight back the pain some he'll walk over and take a chair, offering him a smile.]
We talked over the journals, I'm, Doctor James Watson.

Ah, yes! An absolute pleasure to meet you in person, Doctor Watson. I'm the Doctor. Just the Doctor, or perhaps Lakare, if you prefer. People seem fond of that one. ... Can I have someone bring you a drink?

Pleasure's mine Doctor, and, no drink for now no, I just finished a cup of tea before coming you see. [And having tea with poker just doesn't feel right and he's not to interested in much else right then.]
Doctor Song and a, Felix Harrowgate, suggested we should talk said we may just get along.

Yes tea, its my beverage of choice anymore, if I have opportunities to sit down and enjoy it. [He shakes his head at that.] I thought the same as well. And that, can be confusing yes, but you are a time traveler, so I would think that it would happen...[And he won't admit it but right now his head hurts at the idea.]
