If this is some kind of joke or trick I am highly unimpressed. Whatever answers there are, and however you have tampered with my memories, I would appreciate being informed of them.
[ Helen's seen the book, seen it write down her words and flicked the previous pages to see her own words there... but ones that she doesn't remember speaking and

Well you remember that Bavarian accent he botched back in France? Well he's gotten in some practice with it and is now using it. Baby steps, right?]
Well if you don't believe the book it is rather simple. You are in, Paradisa, where things that are not are and you have been, for lack of a better word kidnapped.

And taking the persona of someone that should not be is supposed to be an attempt to impress that? [ So unimpressed ]

This someone who should not be is rather alive thank you Helen, but you could say that yes. [You could be nice you know he's not dead. But a sigh.] Where are you? I'll come down and see you once I'm done in the clinic.

I'd prefer a different location. [ She would be at a disadvantage wherever she was but at least she could perhaps learn something about where she was whilst finding it ]

How about the lobby then? Unless that's where you are now, but its not terribly far from where I am. On the off chance you feel like running after thinking I'm some sort of brain sucking Abnormal, you could. [Because its Helen and he wouldn't put much past her right now.]

She closed the book, slipping it inside her jacket and left the room in search of the lobby. Any that she past she tried not to make too much eye contact with, hoping to slip down easily
And that she did. She'd taken a few wrong turns along the way, picked up more than a few impressions and ideas of where she was but eventually she made it, looking around the vast lobby to cover all of her exits and for the source of the voice - which wasn't quite so simple with the people walking through. Part of her hoped, almost vainly, to see James, that it was truly him but then she had to remind herself of how impossible it was. But then the impossibility of this resurfaced in her mind and she hoped again ]

Which he does and he's sitting in a chair facing the stairs, hands steepled in front of his face as he waits for her. His clothes are rather rumpled and he's lacking a jacket and his exosuit but otherwise its as if he had just been pulled from Bhalasam, sans the advanced aging bit. And he see's her but he's but he's quiet as he shifts a suspendor strap better on his shoulder and wait, just smiling as he sits up.]
Helen!

My God, James? [ She hesitates before stepping towards him, surprise keeping her cautious ] Tell me that this isn't a trick.
Reply
Yes, its me Helen. Its no trick, its no illusion or mental game or telepathic construct in your head. At least if it is, then its shared over the course of many worlds and many different times. [He's not going to hug or touch her yet, he'll let her make the move for now.]

You're all right... and without your suit. James, what is this, honestly?
Reply
Yes I'm alright, and my suit...well. This place is Paradisa as I said before, its both the castle here, and the world. Its some sort of, other dimension I think, that brings people here through, teleportation or something.

[He waves her towards a chair near his own.] But do you mind if we continue this discussion while sitting? I have been in the clinic and my body isn't what it was.
Reply
She gives him a nod, letting a hand rest on his arm ] How are you? Your mind is as it always has been but- [ She hopes that he doesn't know, especially not remember if only for kindness ] You've been with your suit for years.
