As what happens to us in this place becomes more extreme I've found that I savour the quiet times between them and in that vein I wish to say Eid Mubarak. Firstly to Hesam. I have some jalebi if you'd like it, I may have sneaked a few myself ( Read more... )

Eid Mubarak. Perhaps being away from families could bring something new to it - sharing experiences is a way to enjoy them yourself.

Ah I realise I wasn't being terribly clear, I'm not celebrating it myself but offering my congratulations to those that do. Although you do bring up a very valid point. I do think the one advantage of Paradisa is the number of cultures that I have been exposed to.

And it becomes more than just Earth cultures, also, with the varying worlds that are represented here also. It's certainly an interesting chance.

I find that with each new inhabitant the influx of books on the topic in the library fascinating. I confess though, I still do not know very much about a lot of the different cultures that are here.

It would be interesting to know the numbers that we have. It seems that even those from Earth have difference experiences, also.

True enough, although I confess, theology and sociology were never my strong suits. I was always more partial to biological sciences myself.

I know what you mean. Although I've spent time researching many of the Earth cultures its somewhat more of a hobby.

However, I can understand it becoming someone's life's work however, the sheer number and variation of cultures and traditions on Earth alone is extraordinary.

I've known many whom have made it there work - its all rather fascinating. [ And probably something she may have done had pushing scientific boundaries not been her forte ]

Well it is possible that there are a few people here that you could interact with, that have made it their life's work and it would appear that we are no longer short on time.
