It's just that it's been a long time since he's heard this particular kind of panic in Adachi's voice... December, many months ago, after Souji and his friends said something that just got under his skin. Come to think of it, that was the last he ever saw of the partner he thought he knew.]

...funny. I used to have trouble getting you to keep your mouth shut, and now I can barely get a word out of you. What happened to Mr. Elite? Used to have my hands full with a rookie who couldn't talk enough about mysteries. Now he's got a big one and he doesn't have the time of day for it? Sloppy work, detective.

While we're talking about what's funny, let's talk about how hilarious it is to let your partner talk his way into eating dinner with you and your daughter every other night of the week, only to find out he killed somebody else's daughter. Twice.
