[He sipped his cocoa, avoiding the other's gaze.]

[Ooh, Cross does not like that sudden breaking of eye contact.]

No, nothing like that. It just got intense and emotional is all, which is a valid reaction.

I feel better though, for having told him. I feel like... we are closer for it.

Well, that type of information would have been necessary to share at some point in your relationship.

I know. I just... it brings such pain, knowing what I will do, what will be done. I want to share it, and then when I do I feel awful for putting my burden on others, and yet I also feel relieved. I am not the only one with the burden.

[He sits up and sighs, taking a big sip of his hot cocoa.]

Enjoying the weather before it changes. I thought you despised the leaves.

Well now that they are not a veritable flood, I am more inclined to be pleased with them. I like the colors still.
