[Maladict is sitting on the counter of the cafe in the hotel she's found herself working at, a cup of coffee beside her as she writes into the journal. Once again, she is UTTERLY FAILING to serve anyone coffee. It's her coffee, they can just sod off elsewhere. Or get it themselves. Vampires serve no one...even not-actually-vampires-right-now-vampires. Anyway, she is carefully writing out a list]
FIVE THINGS MALADICT HAS LEARNED ABOUT EARTH.
1. There are no undead bars, and when you ask about them, you get funny looks. - And I thought we had it bad back home, they may not like us, but at least we still have places we can congregate.
2. It doesn't feel half as round as people say it is. I'm starting to think all that stuff is bollocks. I mean, it's not like the horizon has a visible curve to it or anything.
3. Technology makes even less sense than when it's explained to you. It's a lot less fun, too. Using a camera is only half as interesting as an iconograph. At least with an iconograph, if the picture comes out wrong you can have a go at the imp inside it and make them fix it. Can't do that with a camera.
4. A world utterly devoid of magic is very boring and predictable. You don't know what you're missing until you've had to be careful what you're saying in case you righteously piss off a God and get smote. People just don't make an effort in their existence, just...slouch along. It's depressing.
5. France has good coffee.
