[the Weighted Companion Cube is still in the Library, an open journal and a half-empty cup of coffee left on its top surface. It has been serving as an end table for some time now. Most of this time, it hadn't been thinking hard enough for its mind to get picked up by the journal...but all recent the excitement in the air has been contagious, even for an inanimate object.]

Parties. Two of them.

They seem important. Events. Gatherings.

So much talk, so many thoughts about it.
Something that has not happened yet.
Waiting for something to happen.
