Rory is walking down the streets of the town towards Caritas, hands shoved in his coat pockets, wondering if this is a good idea (the fact that he can't even drink coffee in the first place notwithstanding). He'd only agreed to it because Karen had sounded--apologetic?--even though she really had no need to be, but mostly ... he still feels guilty for how things ended between them the last time. Not that the Karen he last saw on a battlefield and this Karen are the same, but--still. It's all very confusing.
He can't help but think this won't go very well.
Still, he tries to put on an optimistic and pleasant, if not exactly cheerful, face as he comes in through the front door of Caritas, blinking at the rush of warm air, and looks around for Karen's familiar face.
