His patrolling had almost reached a sort of paranoid state. Without being able to go near the heart of Paradisa any longer, he had to expend his almost manic energy somehow. There was so much area to cover in such little time, so many things to watch for... his treks took him out of the manor for a day or two at a time, combing the same wide sweeps of land with neurotic attention. ...So, it did not take him long to notice a new presence in the manor as he returned.
...A familiar presence.
It picked at him, proverbial hackles raising, but he chose to wait until he arrived at the front door before reaching out for the mind of his master.
Mental voice just a bit sharp as he stalked into the building.
