After everyone's many and varied reactions to being locked in -- which had all collectively seemed to peak at irritation, with the exception of Lorne -- the day had wound down with everyone splitting up to try and determine sleeping arrangements. It became clear enough pretty fast that no one seemed inclined to share her room, she Fred had considered using the time to try and better understand Hardison's security systems. But she's finally admitted to herself that would probably come a lot easier in the morning.

After putting away the last of the food, Fred found herself returning to her room. She'd chosen a complete departure from her old one, welcoming a fresh start. Old treasures not on display were still stowed safely away, but it'd never felt the same after the ransacking a few months before. This felt right.

Her fingers strayed up to trace the locket at her neck. She still needed to talk to Wesley about Damon. Every day locked away was one less left to make proper plans, and they needed to warn everyone else. That, at least, was a slightly easier task considering their current predicament. But he'd hardly met her gaze all night. She knew that walking back into the lobby of the hotel couldn't have been easy, and that Charles still unsettled him. But the point of this was to get past all that. Either way, she'd talked herself into giving him at least tonight to adjust.

She allowed herself a longer bath than usual before bed. Of course, that didn't necessarily sleep would follow. Fred climbed up onto her bed, standing on the mattress to get a better view of the books that lined the shelves there. It had the potential to be a long night, she might as well get some company now.
