[Caroline is just hanging out at the bar, drinking the Long Island Iced Tea she ordered from the bar. She figured drinking straight liquor and not getting wasted would look pretty suspicious but she was hungry and needed something to surpress the cravings until she could leave to go 'eat'.

So the drink with the most booze? Always a good idea.]

I liked the people -- well, most of them, anyway. But the people you deliver the packages too can be dicks most of the time.

It's a service industry. Either they ignore you, or you didn't get there fast enough.

Yup. But it's money. And it let me move around town a little easier, which is way more helpful than you think.

Did you ever get hit by a car? I hear that happens a lot.

Actually, I got hit by a paramedic. I was really pretty convenient.

[except for the part where the paramedic was an ex-one night stand, but -- they're not going to get into that now]

Yeah, but it was mostly my fault. I wasn't looking where I was going.

And I was okay. I'm tougher than I look.

[Okay, normally? Student drinking with their teacher? Really weird. But for some reason it's not. What is Caroline's life? She grins at Alaric considering it's probably the first time she's seen him in person? Maybe the second? So you get a hug Mr. S. A side hug. Because Caroline is drinking and she's a hugger.

Hey Mr. Saltzman! I'm okay-- [Her brow furrows] You know... Can I just call you Ric? Because it feels kinda weird. [Calling him by his last name when they are hanging out or something like it.]

[It's Caroline. Of course he's getting a hug. And of course, she wasn't paying attention when he said that everyone should call him 'Ric'. But she does laugh, taking a long sip of her drink.]

Great point. [She tilts said drink towards him] How are you holding up? And no fake answers, I'm good at telling if you're just being nice or whatever. [Though, of course, she could probably tell him that she wasn't exactly doing good herself but she wasn't bad either.]
