Night vision was handy, especially when you were driving a motorcycle. Even if you wear sunglasses at night.

Yes, it was lame, but when she had started out this little ride, the sun was still in the sky. She had just finished giving her a tune up, and wanted to take her for a ride to see how she ran. A quick trip through the business and residential districts turned into a much longer loop around the City as a whole, and when she finished and came to a stop in front of the castle, the sun was already down, and she needed to give it a rest for the day. She coasted the bike to a stop outside the front door and pushed the kickstand down before climbing off and stretching it out.

Her shoulders rolled as she unzipped her leather jacket, and she was pretty sure she was alone, until she heard a twig snap somewhere to her left. Kitty hearing doesn't miss much.

"Anybody out here?"

"Seattle," she said with a nod. "2021."

She had not anticipated how far into the future that that answer would be for Steve, but she felt that it was important to clarify. Sometimes talking to people around here can need that.

"2021." It's clear from his voice he's just a little overwhelmed. Nearly everyone has been very far ahead of him so far. It changes the subject.

"So what's Seattle like?"

Her head tipped as she looked at what he was wearing, trying to place the period with what she knew about history, but it wasn't coming to her right away. "Yeah. What about you?"

She shrugged off the question about Seattle though. "It's Seattle. It rains a lot, and the people aren't always nice, but it's home."
