Who: Katherine and Neal
What: Conversations tubside. Katherine is in a bubble bath. Neal is not.
Where: The
bathroom of the loft they are sharing. In Paris.
When: Monday evening.
Paris isn't that bad when there isn't a revenge-seeking Original vampire hunting you down. Katherine actually likes it here and she can honestly say that because she is a human who had to deal with all the emotions that she'd been trying to avoid for the past few months. It's possible that she's been avoiding them for much longer, but it's easier to consider her time in the castle as separate from any issues she's dealing with back home. She's the only one here from her time and it didn't seem to really matter that she hadn't done anything wrong.
Honestly, what is the point of playing by the rules if everyone already thought you'd done far worse. The beauty of having the simplest of plans, such as enjoying a Klaus-free existence, had been that everyone else is still on their tip-toes trying to keep her from being such a monster to the rest of the castle.
Katherine has been perfectly content to let them run around thinking she has some huge ulterior motive cooking up. It keeps them away from her and allows her to adjust to her surroundings. Of course, now her surroundings were much different and she was human.
She's adjusting.
Her conversation with Stefan, however, has bristled her a bit. The banter was fine, but she knows that he was looking for her to give away some crucial piece of a plan. It's exhausting to think that he isn't going to just enjoy Paris. That he's once more trying to calculate and plot around her.
Yes, Stefan, plot a way to keep Katherine from enjoying a bath. Because that's what she's doing. Offfenbach is playing in the bathroom. The acoustics are amazing. The water is warm and the bubbles go nearly to her chin. If she could live in this bathtub, she would.
