Dec 30, 2004 20:50

Somehow last year , I stumbled onto the 50bookchallenge community; it may have been at queenpasiphae's recommendation. I thought it was a great idea, as my mother's a reading teacher and I've had a lusty love affair with books since my first Golden Books. Unfortunately, first college and then working full time with a 45 minute commute each way meant that I hadn't done any ( Read more... )

I actually started that book earlier this year, but, uh. I don't know anything about fairy tales, so I totally didn't get half of what was going on. If I could find a good retelling of The Wizard of Oz in book form somewhere (the movie creeps me the hell out), I'd really like to read it.

Wow. That is really impressive, and you have every reason to be proud of that. I wanted to read at least 50 books this year, but I don't think I made it.

By the way, thanks for your Christmas card! I received it yesterday. <3.

Hee--I'm pretty sure I found 50bookchallenge through you. :D Congrats on making it through 100 books! That's quite impressive, especially as you've been busy with work and moving and school as well.

Since I've got plans for tomorrow, I'd better go polish off the last few pages of book #50 right now...

Not to give you more work or anything, but I'd like to read a write-up on your favorite books. You've read some really interesting stuff and I'm curious about what you thought of your list as a whole.

I'll try and write up something in the next day or two with general thoughts about my 2004 books and what my favorites were. Since I probably won't touch on everything I read, are there any books in particular you're curious about? Let me know and I'll make sure to say something about them. :D

My English teacher had Eats, Shoots, & Leaves and I wanted to read it, but never got around to it! Curses! I will have to try this year. If the challenge goes on again this upcoming year, I think I might give it a try... very cool.

Congrats!

It runs every year, so you can definitely get in on it.

Also, read the book, man. I'd read it on break during class and people always asked me what I was laughing about because you just can't help yourself. :D

Awesome. I just hope I can do it with school and all. Trying for good grades, le gasp.

I started reading it and it amused me to no end, since I'm somewhat of a punctuation freak. Must get in on that.

Making comments on this entry is difficult because of the length, but books inspire me to comment (I've gotten quite bad at commenting and answering emails, as you know ( ... )
