Rarely having any need to pop by the apartment buildings, Hannibal simply walking past when he caught the scent -it wasn't exactly hard all things considered. It definitely wasn't the stuff they were serving at Pops' place. Curiosity, naturally, got the better of him, and Hannibal was wandering up the stairs of the apartment building before he really realised it.

The smell just got stronger as he reached the third floor and then all but hit him in the face at the first door. "What're you doing? Feeding the nation?"

The door was opening, so he doubted he was intruding, but Hannibal made a point of standing outside the door as he asked.

At the voice, Agni leaned over the counter and looked to see who was standing at the door, open indeed to welcome passers-by.

"If a nation sits at my table I should be diligent in serving them," Agni replied in warm and friendly tone. He motioned with one hand, the hand wrapped in clean and tidy bandages, for the stranger to cross the threshold into the aromatic apartment. In the other hand he held a strainer and looked to be making yet another dish.

"Please do feel welcome, come and sit. I would like another's opinion on these humble offerings to my Master's table. Potential offerings, I should clarify. May I have your name, Sir?"

At the invitation, Hannibal entered the room, glancing over the table and smirking just a little. "It's Hannibal," since he was pretty much never called 'King' anymore, it had been Abby's thing. "What've you made exactly?"

Indian food wasn't something Hannibal really had a taste for, then again, it was never really made right -those fast food dives in L.A never really got anything right. And it did smell amazingly good.

All else failed, naan bread was always a safe bet.

"A pleasure, Mr. Hannibal," Agni said with a low and respectful bow of his head. When he straightened he motioned to each plate in turn and gave their names with a short description.

"Achari paneer, made with cheese and yogurt, seasoned with tumeric, asafetida, onion seed, coriander, fenugreek seeds, fennel seeds, salt and pepper.

Chole chaat, or spicy chick peas, made with roasted cumin powder and mango.

Aloo dum: a light potato curry made with corander, fennel, cumin, red chili, paprika cilantro and... some coconut. Hm!

But this~"

Agni moved around the counter and took a ladling spoon in the bowl of chilled white liquid. He poured some into a glass and held it up for Hannibal to take if he wished.

"This is thandai, a traditional drink served to celebrate harvest. It is a sweet and spicy almond drink made with milk, fennel and poppy seeds. I also put some coconut in this too. Please, enjoy."

What was that? What was this smell! Oh it drove him nose first to wherever this smell was coming from. Madison Square it was-

I haven't smelled this kind of food since Basil was around - I miss that cat, he had, oh! Here we are.. "Hmm, hmm!" A wide smile and Axel gave the door a good knock, even if it was open, and stuck his head in.

"Hello? Hello?" A very eager look to his expression and a more than wet mouth.

At the sound of the knock Agni leaned over the counter, palms flat as he craned his neck with a curious expression to his face and mouth in a small "o". When he saw who it was the butler smiled widely and was quick to walk around the counter, hips giving a careful jut to avoid the sharp corner as he came to welcome this new guest.

"Mister Axel, welcome." Agni stopped and gave a respectful bow at the waist, a happy squint to his eyes. "What may I do for you?"

What a graceful way of walking, so he thought as Axel witnessed such a passive care to that corner of that counter. His brows raised and he offered a friendly smile in turn. "Oh, well," he cleared his throat with a hand in a light fist, covering his lips as he shifted weight from one foot to the next.

"I was just thinking I'd come to you this time, for payment, instead of you to me, mmm?" The fist moved to the side of his hip and he beamed happily. Congratulating himself by such a position he's given himself here.

"Though, if it's not enough-" nodding toward the kitchen, "I'll take half, and only half of the prince can use my pool. How's that sound?"

Agni's eyebrows rose at that, his mind imagining such a thing. Asking the Prince to only bathe half himself! No- no he couldn't even imagine such a thing. It wasn't even a tolerable thing to imagine imagining it. Oh the terror of his inadequate self to fathom half a Lord bathed. No, no no.

"Mister Axel," Agni said seriously, expression intense. "I must ask you to take a full price, for a full bath. It is very important. There is more than enough here for you to take a full price and then some. Please consider this for my Lord's sake."
