Saturday night after the Triumph party at about 4 AM in the morning, Elaine and I woke up to 3 extremely loud bangs (not firecracker sounds btw). I'm scared of spiders, too. I've been working to try and control that fear, and most of the time it doesn't overwhelm me like that. But that specific variety of spider really creeps me out. I shudder every time I see one. I can't imagine the terror of having one on me!

So... What are your thoughts on dealing with these... apparent pool intruders?

Yeah, I have no hope of controlling my fear of 1 inch+ long spiders. Forget that. :) I swear, if I found anything like http://www.snopes.com/photos/bugs/camelspider.asp living near my house; I'd move out of Texas completely!

I'm not sure what to do honestly. I can't do anything rash cause it might just be kids. Here is my list in most probable order now that I think on it:

1) Talk to the immediate neighbors and make sure it isn't their kids (show them the goggles and see if anyone claims them).
2) Install motion sensing lights around the whole house.
3) Install CCTV cameras around the house (my boss did this relatively cheaply and captures the images so they are visible via web page, quite nifty).

When I walk into a spider web, I freak out and do a silly little dance. And I'm terrified, because if I walked into a web, I didn't see it, so I don't know what type of spider it was.

And now, talking about it, I'm feeling creepy crawlies. Mebbe I should just head home!

Wow! I figure the loud banging noise was made by a giant spider!

I'm beginning to appreciate living in an upper floor apartment more and more.
