I apologize for my behavior over the past few days. It looks like the breach affected me worse than the rest of you. I don't know what it was... [He totally does-- at least, on his end. But he ain't talking.] But it's over now. [With a hint of amusement:] You don't have to worry about me reciting French poetry over the network anymore.

[It takes about ten minutes for Perry to actually open the door. The room is trashed, stuff everywhere: broken plates, glasses, paper. Looks like Perry had a nice little rampage when the flood ended. His voice and stance are hostile as hell.]

What do you want?

[Arthur's patient. He totally waits.] You had your mind completely fucked with three times in the course of a month. Give or take. [He peers into the room.] And you're obviously not taking it well. So I'm checking up on you.

Well now you've checked. So you can just fuck right off again, can't you? [Perry doesn't move out of the doorway. He doesn't want Arthur to come in.]

Not a chance. We've got to make up for lost time. [He jerked his head to the side.] Let's go for a walk.

[Capa's been holed up in his room for a while, as well. So when he opened the door, he was an absolute mess. No emotion showed on his face when he saw Arthur, but that actually took effort to maintain.]

Hey.

Hey.

[Awkward. He could tell Capa's not doing well, but he didn't know how much of it was because of him, or because of something else that might have happened to the other man during the event.]

I'm sorry. [Pause.] I guess I owe you an explanation.

[Capa stepped back to allow him inside.] I guess you do. [He didn't sound upset, but rather...off. Turning away, he sat down at his desk chair and looked up to Arthur expectantly.]

[He walked inside, standing in the middle of the room.] I couldn't tell the difference between the waking world and a dream. Without my totem-- without any concept of it-- there was no way I could verify. [He paused.]

You bear a... very strong resemblance to a man back home. I became convinced you were him.

[Starting with the easy stuff.]

So I guess you're feeling better?

Much. I finally feel like myself again. What about you?

The pounding in my head is starting to go away, so I guess that's a good thing. I didn't really miss the memories.

I don't know, I almost find the spots of amnesia even more concerning than the stuff I do remember.

No, they've let me out.

What happened?

Private paradoxlol April 30 2011, 18:35:45 UTC
Whatever was happening on the Barge, it made me forget my totem. Not just the object, but the concept, every memory I had of checking it.

[Pause.]

Can I come see you? I prefer to make my apologies in person.

You didn't lose it, did you?

...and, yes. All right.

No, I still have it. [He snorts, irritated by the past days' events.] It was with me the entire time.

I'll be by in ten.

[It takes Eames a little while to get to the door and, when he does, he's in navy blue slacks and a black t-shirt, dressed down for his current mood. He picks up his gun from the table beside the door, knocks off the safety, and clicks back the hammer before he unlocks his door. Then he opens it a crack without putting any part of his body in the space.]

"What is it?" [He sounds a bit groggier than usual.]

It's Arthur. [Pause. He suddenly feels somewhat... awkward... about all of this.] With a peace offering.

[Eames stands still in hesitation for only a moment before he opens the door to allow the point man in. As soon as Arthur has entered, he's closing and locking the door, releasing the hammer, and setting his gun on the table once more. It's a little more paranoid than Eames usually is, but it suits his current ailment to some extent.

Then the forger moves quickly back toward the bed in the middle of the room, not saying anything until he arrives to sit on edge.] "Feeling better?"

Like I've got both feet on the ground again. [He follows after Eames, thermos in hand.] What about you? [He motions to his peace offering.] I brought dinner. I couldn't stomach much more than this the last time I was in your position.
