.048 | SPAM FOR ALICE MORGAN // backdated to start of flood // Perry and others welcome, too!

Aug 29, 2011 12:19

[Talk about shitty timing for a flood. With things as rocky as they were with Perry, now was so not the time for the Admiral to throw another inmate at him. Arthur looked at his item, checking it for the, what, hundredth time, as he followed his instinct (or flood-mandated yearning for closeness) all the way to Alice Morgan. He'd seen her around ( Read more... )

SPAM and THANK YOU for putting this up, you are the best likedarkmatter August 29 2011, 17:59:24 UTC
[Alice had been repressing the sense of needing to be somewhere else - with someone else - to the detriment of, well, everything else she might have been getting on with. He found her on deck, reading a dense cosmology text without actually digesting anything. It was only when a shadow cast across the page that the sense of unease faded. She looked up and smiled beatifically.]

Arthur. To what do I owe the pleasure?

[Arthur canted his head a little to take a look at the book. Cosmology. A subject he knew little about, personally-- very little. Definitely up Capa's alley, though. Then, he offered Alice a quick smile.]

The Admiral, actually. You've been showing up on my item, so I thought I'd check in on you. [Actually, he felt compelled to check in on her. It was strange.] But I can leave you to your... light reading if I've interrupted.

SPAM - no problems at all ma'am <3 likedarkmatter August 29 2011, 20:09:02 UTC
Actually, until you arrived I was finding I couldn't concentrate in the slightest. And I am ordinarily - very focused. [She closed the book and put it to one side on the bench.] The flood, I should imagine. Pull up a pew, won't you?

Yeah, me too. That sounds like the most logical explanation. [Arthur took a seat beside her, looking a little amused, and said wryly:] Even if there wasn't a flood, I'm pretty sure standard procedure would be to curse the Admiral, anyway.

QUICK SPAM FOR LATER /sob still so slow hatestriangles August 30 2011, 07:04:20 UTC
[Perry hadn't been looking for Arthur--there was still too much shit swirling around in his head from the things he'd learned about the guy in the mirrorverse. But he saw his warden in the dining hall, second inmate in tow, and well, there were no empty tables and no one else he particularly wanted to sit with. Arthur was better than most of the other choices.]

Two inmates, huh? I'll bet you're real pleased about that.

[Arthur arched his brow a little and shrugged one shoulder.] I don't have any complaints. [Hey, he got to be attached to a beautiful, sophisticated woman for a while. Not so bad... well, okay, it was going to get awkward whenever one needed to take a shower. Or go to the bathroom. Or sleep. He motioned between the two of them.]

Alice, Perry. Perry, Alice.

[Alice waved, giving a cheery little waggle of her fingertips.]

Lovely to meet you, Perry. [She made a gesture to the free seats at the table.] Are you staying?

[Perry shrugged, twisting his neck to make the bones crack.]

Sure. Why not? [He sat across from her, looking her over.] I don't think I've seen you around. So who are you normally saddled with, princess?

TENTATIVE MONDAY NIGHT SPAM likedarkmatter August 31 2011, 01:04:12 UTC
[It was late. Maybe even edging into 'early'. Alice was lying in the dark, eyes starting to discern shapes in the near-blackness. Not a heavy sleeper at the best of times, she hadn't really remembered falling asleep or waking up and could only assume she had from the fact she felt rather more well-rested.

Five feet was not a long way: she could hear Arthur's breathing. It didn't have the deep evenness of sleep to it.]

If it's any consolation, I doubt anyone is sleeping much tonight,

[OOC: III hope a second, later thread is okay. :C You weren't around to ask. I wept.]

CONFIRMED MONDAY NIGHT SPAM paradoxlol August 31 2011, 01:47:19 UTC
[Arthur lifted his face from his pillow. He'd been drifting in and out, never really reaching the REM state, judging by the way he felt. Not that it was ever easy to tell-- he couldn't dream on his own. When he was younger, dreams were the way he could tell he'd actually been asleep.]

Yeah. [He chuckled softly, rubbing his eyes.] But at least we don't have to worry about the other pulling a knife or a gun or a... pillow, or something. [OR DID THEY?]

I was never any good at sleepovers. [Although, technically, his entire line of work was a giant slumber party.]

[Alice laughed softly, for just a moment longer than the comment warranted, then let the silence expand to fill the room again.]

Do you dream much, Arthur?

[He looked at her, brow raised slightly, then shrugged.] About as much as anyone else. I don't remember most of my dreams. You?
