Nuwa continues to hide out in the monastery until it is time for the birth of her children, for she is carrying twins. She leaves for the hospital and there gives birth to two Chinese-American children, one large, strong, healthy - the other too weak to breathe on his own and quickly placed in an incubator. She is allowed to hold her healthy son
